AFTER ACCIDENT
· Karen represented Canada at the Dutch Open Championships for Riders with a Disability in the Netherlands, September 2005 winning two Silver Medals
· Karen represented Canada at the 2004 Athens Paralympic Games winning two Bronze Medals
· Karen won the BC Premiers Athlete of the Year Award in 2004
· Karen gives many Motivational/Inspirational Speeches to various Organizations, Schools, Hospitals, etc.
· Karen represented Canada at the Open European Championships for Paralympic riders in Portugal and was the highest placed Canadian rider.
· Karen was honoured to receive the Ken Dobson Trophy at the Greater Victoria Sports Awards Dinner, In Recognition of Outstanding Courage, Overcoming Adversity and returning to Competition. This Special Award is only given out in circumstances when there has been an extraordinary achievement in accomplishing this. She was honoured with a standing ovation.
· Karen represented Paralympic riders at 3 day Dressage Symposium in Ontario given by renowned Dressage coach Conrad Schumacher from Germany.
· Karen made a speech about Paralympic riders at the Ontario Equestrian Federation Conference. She received a standing ovation for speaking about the riders she saw compete at the Open European Championships for Paralympic riders held in Portugal in 2002. Many people came up to her afterwards to tell her how inspiring her speech was, and how it affected them.

Karen was honoured by the Ontario Equestrian Federation A Night with the
Stars in recognition of International Achievements in both The Canadian
Equestrian Team category and the Paralympic equestrian Team category.
